The kids are always asking me if they can help in the kitchen.
I love recipes like this, where I can actually say yes.
If your kids are anything like mine, the fact that they get to use sprinkles will have them screaming for joy.
Every time we go grocery shopping, my oldest Remi, and now our middle one Jersey, dart for the sprinkles.
We finally bought a jar and they’re always asking if they can put it on their food.
No, we are not putting sprinkles on your pancakes. No! You can’t put sprinkles on your chicken, or your potatoes, or your corn or any vegetable. No, sprinkles are not going in your smoothie.
You can make several of these chocolate covered banana popsicle’s in minutes. Unfortunately, the freezing part takes a little longer.
Bananas are grown to be much sweeter than they use to be, making them a treat for us, but a much healthier alternative to processed junk food. So lets get started!
1. Peel the bananas.
2. Cut the bananas in half.
3. Stick the bananas on the popsicle sticks.
4. Slice the chocolate bar into small pieces and place it in a microwavable bowl or container.
5. Place the chocolate in a microwave oven for 2 to 3 minutes.
Make sure to check the chocolate every minute to make sure that the chocolate will melt evenly and prevent it from burning.
6. Dip the banana in the melted chocolate.
Be quick in doing this step since most of the melted chocolate tends to solidify in an instant.
That would still vary on the type of chocolate bar you used. You have the option to cover it completely or leave the bottom part bare, it is all up to you.
7. Carefully sprinkle the rainbow sprinkles around the chocolate-covered banana.
This is perfectly done when the chocolate is still in its liquid or semi-liquid state.
Put the chocolate-covered bananas in the freezer for 30 minutes.
8. Finally done! You can now serve the chocolate covered bananas to your guest or your kids!
This frozen chocolate banana can also be eaten immediately without using the fridge at all.
Perfect comfort food. And a new way of presenting the banana as a treat instead of the healthy fruit option they no longer want.
Hope you liked it! Enjoy!
