Insects drive me to itch. I can’t stand them.

They all come uninvited, get into your house or on your skin, they bite (I have 3 huge bits that actually bruised, I’m pretty sure they are spider bites), they make an annoying noise.. they are simply aggressive.

I mean: why don’t they just stay in their natural habitat? My house and my skin are not a natural habitat for them, only for me. And my family, of course.

This summer has been crazy for ticks as well. I’ve found two so far in my house!

One was just in the bathroom and one was on my daughters pants! I get itchy just thinking about it.

Homemade Bug Repellent Recipes That WorkPin

According to my dog lover community this recipe works for flies, mosquitoes and ticks. It is child and dog safe!

Especially important for dogs who lick themselves and should not have any toxic bug sprays on them.

So, my “beloved” friends, please let us live in peace and enjoy our summer, away from the buzz.

There are many natural repellents you can try.

You should stay away from the chemical ones, they may put your health (and your children’s health) at risk.

The homemade repellents are very easy to prepare and all natural.

Natural Bug Repellent ~ Essential Oils and Water
Author: Casey
Ingredients
  • 20 drops of citronella oil
  • 20 drops of lemongrass oil
  • 20 drops of eucalyptus oil
  • 20 drops of peppermint oil
  • 1 tbsp of distilled white vinegar
  • 4 ounces of water
Instructions
  1. Mix all ingredients together.
  2. After that shake the container well.
  3. You should do this each time before you use the spray.

This mixture is suitable for children 2+ years old.

Smaller children may not tolerate the essential oils combination so well.

Remember that those fragrances are very powerful compounds that may harm a sensitive skin even if they are all natural.

Make sure you use essential oils that are suitable for your child’s age.
